The
Apostles'
Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord;

Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;

He descended into hell; the third day. He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty.

From thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic [universal] church, The communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,

The Resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Ten Commandments

God's will for His people is explicitly expressed in

the Ten Commandments:

1. You shall have no other gods before Me.

2. You shall not make for yourself an image.

3. You shall not misuse the Name of the Lord your God.

4. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.

5. Honor your father and your mother.

6. You shall not murder.

7. You shall not commit adultery.

8. You shall not steal.

9. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

10. You shall not covet.

The
Sacraments

The Church of the Nazarene observes the sacraments of baptism and the Lord's Supper or Holy Communion.

Sacraments are visible signs of inward and spiritual grace.

They are given to us by Christ and entrusted to the church as efficacious means of grace for both our spiritual and physical senses.

God's faithfulness and the work of the Holy Spirit call from us a response of faith and growth in the Christian life.

The
Lord's
Prayer

Jesus taught this prayer when a disciple saw Him praying.

The prayer is often considered to be a summary of the whole gospel.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name, Your kingdom come, Your Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Matthew 6:9-13

one lord, one faith, one baptism

1

In one God;

the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

2

The Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian Living.

3

Man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore inclined to evil, and that continually.

4

The finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.

5

The atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified, regenerated, and saved from the dominion of sin.

6

Believers are to be sanctified  wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

7

The Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.

8

Our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgement will take place.
